One of the rarest helmets is Rawlings "Ridge" HND-9 Pro Version.  This helmet was made for the Vikings by Rawlings in 1977 but never made it in a pro game.  The "Ridge" helmet was only manufactured for a couple years and most of them sat around in team equipment closets.
