This Super Bowl XVIII helmet ran around Dave Butz to MVP honors

You would think being a Heismann Trophy winner and the Raiders first round draft pick, Marcus Allen would have received a brand new helmet. His first year helmet was a hand me down. Allen wore a Riddell WD-1 with a unique twist inside. He used the front padding of a PAC 3 and installed it upside down for his rear neck support. Could this be the reason Allen never wore a rear Riddell bumper?
