San Antonio Wings
Wings - Tim
Brannan
(Game Worn)
A three-year starter at Maryland, Tim Brannan was a tough 6'1", 237-pound
offensive guard from Baltimore, who labored on some of Maryland's worst teams.
Yet, he played consistently well and was recognized as one of the top blocking
linemen in the ACC his junior and senior years. He was voted as the Terps Most
Outstanding Offensive Lineman in both 1971 and '72 and was named the
University Of Maryland's Athlete Of The Year in 1972 as well as All
Conference. With his degree in Marketing in hand, he signed with the Detroit
Lions as a free agent but was released. Playing as a starter for the WFL
Florida Blazers in 1974, he teamed with linemates Rich Buzin and Mitch Johnson
to pave the way for WFL rushing leader Tommy Reamon. When most of the team
moved to the San Antonio Wings for the 1975 season, Brannan joined them and
again was an integral part of the offensive line.
