Chicago Bears Reunion
The Chicago Bears and their fans celebrated the team's future with the
unveiling of New Soldier Field during Monday night's nationally televised game
with the Green Bay Packers. The team's glorious past was also saluted when the
Bears honored members of their 1963 NFL championship team during a special pre
game ceremony. Each returning player from that legendary team was presented
with an authentic reproduction of the same vintage Riddell model "RK"
suspension helmet that was used during the 1960s era. Each helmet was
personalized by Helmet Hut to reflect the specific face mask style that was
worn by each player. For these heroic "Monsters of the Midway" nothing else
could inspire memories of their glory days like their old suspension
helmet! Please enjoy these candid "behind the scenes" shots that were taken
exclusively for Helmet Hut readers.
In attendance tonight was Rudy Bukich, Ronnie Bull, Jim Dooley, Joe
Fortunato, John Johnson, Bob Kilcullen, Chuck Mather, Johnny Morris, Larry
Morris, Richie Petitbon, Mike Pyle, Roosevelt Taylor, Bill Wade, Bob Wetoska and
many many more. Also a quick glimpse of owner Brian McCaskey as he gets a
big affectionate Bear claw hug.
Tony Medlin enters his 17th
season with Chicago and seventh as the Bears head equipment manager. Following
the 2000 season he earned the Whitey Zimmerman award as the NFL’s top equipment
manager.
